TWIN FALLS, Idaho – In collaboration with St. Luke’s Magic Valley, the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is excited to offer a part-time registered nursing program option through the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Associate of Science in Nursing Program. This option is designed to provide students with the same high level quality instruction and curriculum of the full-time RN program, but at a part-time pace that will more easily accommodate work and family obligations.
“St. Luke’s has partnered with ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø by providing clinical opportunities for nursing students for many years,” said Andrea Blackburn, director of nursing and patient care at St. Luke’s Magic Valley. “We’re excited to further that relationship in an innovative way that will create another pathway for Magic Valley residents to pursue the nursing profession and help provide critical care for our community.”
Idaho, like the rest of the United States, is facing a critical and persistent shortage of registered nurses—a growing concern that significantly impacts patient care, public health outcomes, healthcare delivery, and the nursing profession at large. The part-time nursing program will remove some of the barriers prospective students may face participating in a traditional nursing program through more flexible classroom instruction and a lighter weekly study burden, which enables students to work part-time and learn part-time.
“The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Nursing Department is excited to collaborate with St. Luke’s to expand educational opportunities and help grow the nursing workforce in the Magic Valley,” said Karen Tautfest, department chair of nursing at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.
The academic plan for the part-time program can be found on ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s Registered Nursing Admissions page:
