High school students can build real-world skills and prepare for in-demand careers—while still in high school.

Career & Technical Education (CTE) at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø focuses on hands-on, skills-based training for high-demand careers. These programs are part of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s Early College options and can be taken in different ways depending on your school and location.

How you can take CTE classes

• At your high school – Take dual credit CTE courses using your school’s facilities, such as welding, agriculture, and automotive.
• At ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (UpLink Career Academy) – Attend half-day programs on ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s campus with access to specialized equipment and labs through the UpLink Career Academy.
• Through SkillStack (formerly Tech Prep) – Earn credit by demonstrating job-ready skills through SkillStack.

Get started with CTE

3. Apply or enroll through your school or ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.

Cost & travel

Many students can take CTE classes right at their high school using existing facilities. Others choose to attend ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø part-time through programs like UpLink. Your options depend on your school, schedule, and goals.

Many CTE and dual credit classes are low-cost, and Idaho’s Advanced Opportunities funding may cover part or all of tuition.
